Get Ready to the Last Hand; the Poker Hand Values
Millions of people around the world want to learn how to play poker and approximately half of them will fail because they failed to understand the most important factor of poker; the poker hand values. The poker hand values determine even by an inch if you have the upper hand in your poker round of if you should have folded a long time ago. The trick is in the detail and you need to train your eye and be very careful in order to succeed in the poker game, but we will help you differentiating the various poker hand values.
The lowest hand that one can get is having nothing. This means that you only have to look for the highest card value that you have at hand; Aces, Kings and Queens. The next best poker hand value that you can get is called two of a kind. This is also called the pair and consists of, surprise, a pair of any value like a pair of kings. Here the highest card value pair wins, for example a pair of queens always wins over a pair of eights. The next best hand is the two pair hand which simply means that you have two pairs.
The next possible hand is the three of a kind which means that you need three pairs of let us say jacks in order to have a chance in the game. The same rule applies here when it comes to which triple pair wins over which. The straight, is the next hand available in the poker hand values. A straight is a sequence of numbers in order but from different suites. The higher the value of cards in the sequence is, the higher the probability to win the game.
The five highest poker hand values are the flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush and lastly royal flush. The flush is simply a hand composed of the same suit disregarding the sequence or rank of the cards. As long as they are the same suit, you have a good poker hand value. The full house is without a doubt one of the most common used poker hand values in movies and television because its value is not too high, but it is a winning hand. The full house consists of a pair and three of a kind.
The next poker hand value is self explanatory which is the four of a kind, and the last and most powerful poker hand value is the straight flush and the royal flush. The straight flush is a sequence of the same suit, and the royal flush is the sequence of the ace, king, queen, jack and ten in the same suit. Whoever has a royal flush has an unbeatable hand and will definitely win the poker game.
Now that you are familiar with all the poker hand values, you can plunge into a poker game and make sure that you at least get a full house, four of a kind, or maybe a royal flush.
